Use the bill estimator tool as a tuition calculator for anticipated college costs. This tool will take into account a variety of factors, including student type, residency, major, and courseload, plus allow for a variety of other scenarios.
It takes less than three minutes! Just answer the questions in three sections to view a bill estimate that can be shared with family.
NOTE: Keep in mind that this tool is designed to provide an estimation of the student bill and is not a binding reflection of the actual bill. The tool is based on most recent fall and spring tuition, fee, housing, and meal plan structure, and some items may vary in cost at the time bills are issued.
Financial aid is available for most student types depending on household income. Students should apply for financial aid as early as possible (starting Oct. 1 for the following fall semester). Financial aid packages are awarded based on demonstrated need, and as long as the student accepts their aid package in advance, the student bill will reflect expected financial aid amounts. Some students will end up receiving a refund because their bill is less than their awarded aid. The extra money can be used for things like books and living expenses.
Student bills are issued near the beginning of each semester and are due at the start of classes. Students can pay their bills to UNCG’s Cashiers Office through their online account, or they can designate an authorized user (usually a family member) to pay on their behalf. Payment plans are also available so students can break up their total amount across 4-5 monthly installments.
