Grade Replacement Request Grade Replacement Request The grade replacement policy went into effect Fall 2005. Courses taken during or after the Fall 2005 term are eligible for grade replacement. A UNCG undergraduate student may repeat a UNCG course in an attempt to earn a better grade, except for courses that include a specific provision regarding repeat credit outlined in the University Catalog course description. Students may request that an original grade in a course be removed from the Grade Point Average (GPA) and replaced by the grade earned in the repeated course. Students may only replace grades for a total of three (3) courses, regardless of credit hour value, during their undergraduate career. Only 300-level and below courses may be repeated. Grades earned as a result of Academic Integrity violations may not be replaced. Grade Replacement cannot be combined with the Academic Renewal/Grade Forgiveness Policy. All Grade Replacements must be processed prior to a student’s graduation from the University. Grade Replacements cannot be processed after a degree is conferred.
